GM to Roll Out Google Gemini AI Across 4 Million Cars

General Motors Co. (GM) announced Tuesday it will roll out Alphabet Inc.'s Google Gemini AI model to over 4 million vehicles in the U.S. via a software update in the coming months.

Gemini will be integrated into all GMC, Cadillac, Buick, and Chevrolet vehicles starting with the 2022 model year equipped with Google Built-in. The AI assistant enables natural voice interaction without memorizing specific commands or repeating phrases, making it easier for drivers to control vehicle functions, navigation, and entertainment.

Pricing and Availability

GM has not announced any additional fees for this update; it will be provided free of charge via over-the-air (OTA) updates for eligible vehicles. The rollout is expected to begin in the next few months.
